Lobre was founded in Milan during the first half of 1900s, and was one of the pioneers in the production of quality optical components such as spherical lenses and projectors for every kind of application.
Today Lobre is capable to design, develop and manufacture top quality optical components and high-precision optical systems for OEM’s, research centres and university science departments all over the world.
In 2007 Lobre has inaugurated it’s 43.000 sq ft modern, fully climate-controlled ISO 9001:2015 certified manufacturing facility in the north of Italy where very precise and reliable optical systems and high-precision optical components are manufactured for our clients fully in-house, from simple spherical lenses to very complex high-precision optronic and optomechanical systems.
Today the company employs about 35 people and has achieved a double-digit growth. This growth is the result of our absolute devotion to develop together with our customers also the most challenging systems, and manufacturing reliable and well performing systems and optical components.

During the past decades, numerous investments have been made in state-of-the art production techniques and best-in-class machinery to offer the required high quality to be able to create high-precision optical systems and components required by our clients.
The vast fleet of machinery represents the ideal mix between modern CNC machinery and traditional machinery, which allows us to reach the highest quality standards of our industry, reaching an optical surface precision up to λ/20 for spherical surfaces and even up to λ/50 for flat surfaces.
The internal coating department is equipped with state-of-the-art evaporation coating machines with ion-gun assisted and plasma assisted sources and internal optical monitor to achieve even the most sophisticated thin-layer coatings. Lobre acquired these specific skills to be able to develop and realize high performing very resistant multi-layer coatings for any kind of application.
Our quality control department is equipped with state-of-the-art advanced computerized systems, such as Optotech interferometers with Zygo MetroPro™, Shimadsu spectrophotometers, spherometers, Trioptics Opticentre with Optisurf™, etc. that allow to control and certify all components and systems that we manufacture.

Nel corso della sua lunga storia i clienti vecchi e nuovi hanno più volte riconosciuto la grande professionalità di Lobre. In ultimo, ma non per questo meno importante, nel 2004 Lobre ha conseguito la certificazione per il sistema di gestione della qualità ISO 9001:2015. Tuttavia l’azienda non ha mai considerato la certificazione un punto d’arrivo, ma uno stimolo a fare sempre meglio. La Direzione con tutto il suo staff, è costantemente impegnata per mantenere i più alti standard qualitativi e trovare, ogni giorno, nuovi modi e stimoli per migliorare i prodotti e servizi offerti.
