Lobre S.r.l.: from its beginnings to today
The history of Lobre S.r.l. (Lavorazioni Ottiche BREsciane) officially began in 1946 thanks to the vision and initiative of engineer Simone Marcucci, a pioneer in the production of high-quality optical components. Today, 80 years later, our company relies on dynamic teams of optical engineers and professionals who work closely with clients throughout Italy and abroad.
Year after year, we have continuously upgraded our technologies to deliver the finest optical components and systems for any project and application.
However, our roots in the optical industry go even deeper: passion has been driving our work since 1918, when engineer Marcucci founded his first company dedicated to “Optics and Equipment for Lighting Systems.”

Lobre S.r.l.: The beginnings
Founded by engineer Marcucci, Lobre S.r.l. is officially established in Carpenedolo (Brescia).
The company expands
For the first time, our production site undergoes expansion in Via Margheriti.
Introduction of new equipment
CNC machinery and interferometers are introduced into our production processes.
Lobre S.r.l.: a certified company
We obtain ISO 9001:2015 certification for our quality management system.
A new expansion
Lobre S.r.l. expands again: a new facility is inaugurated in Via Meucci.
Equipment upgraded
“Best-of-breed” measuring instruments are implemented.
Integration of new technologies
We introduce cutting-edge technology for Hydro-Speed polishing.
Cleanroom expansion
Our controlled environments grow: a second ISO 7 cleanroom is added, equipped with new plasma PVD coating systems.

A new air conditioning system is installed throughout the entire production floor.

Over the 80 years since our foundation, we have continuously integrated new technologies and developed the range of services we offer, providing our clients, both in Italy and abroad, with complete support from the initial concept to final delivery. In particular, together with our team of engineers, Lobre handles the full production of custom industrial optical components and systems for industries, OEMs, research centres, and universities.
When required, we also perform reverse engineering on components without the original technical drawings, implementing improved designs upon request. We can manufacture optical components in series or small batches (with no minimum or maximum quantity), offering fully customised optical solutions.
We manage every step of production in-house: design, manufacturing, coating, assembly and testing. Our proven, fully integrated in-house process allows us to guarantee the high precision, reliability, and durability of custom optics, while also minimising the risk of damage and reducing lead times.
