Flat
mirrorsThey
can be made in any shape and we can divide them in two groups: Posterior:
this is the cheaper type. They are made out of a prealuminated glass sheet, covered
with a silicone paint in order to protect the aluminium. Anterior: the most
important characteristics are the high reflection and the good chemical and mechanical
resistance. We can manufacture them as follows: · Protected aluminum
with quartz · Protected enhanced aluminum with quartz ·
Protected aluminum with a monolayer antireflection coating · Protected
gold Aluminated
mirrors can also be distinguished in: · Total reflection-in protected
aluminum with a processed surface; suitable for the deviation of the light beam
and for projections in general. · Partial reflection-50% (or in the
required percentage) to transmit and reflect at the same time. |
Electtroformed
MirrorsElectroforming
is a technique used to manufacture optical parts in metal. These mirrors are produced
by an electrolytic replication process which very accurately reproduces the geometry
and finish of a carefully generated master surface. Replication begins with
electrolytic deposition of a nickel substrate, the thickness of which is designed
and controlled to achieve desired mechanical properties. Upon separation from
the master the nickel substrate is electrolytically coated with a highly reflective
yet extremely hard and durable rhodium film. |

| Rhodium
adheres well to nickel throughout large temperature excursions, and is resistant
to tarnish and oxidation, even at high temperatures. In order to obtain a much
higher reflection, on request our reflectors can also be aluminated. |
